FJRack

When I have to fly out of LAX I like to ride my motorcycle to the airport because I can park free right at the terminal.  For short trips I carry a big computer bag and one of the Yamaha saddle bag liners.  But when I’m going to be gone a week or so, I’d like to be able to carry my roller bag.  So I came up with “The FJRack”:

It goes on in place of a hard bag.  My prototype is for the right side.  It attaches just the same way that the saddlebag does, except where the saddlebag has the lock actuated tang to hold the bag on, my prototype rack has a single bolt holding the tang in place.

So you just take the bag off the bike and slip the FJRack in its place, tighten the single bolt, and you have a platform to carry your roll-on.

Then you just bungee  the roll-on in place.  Of course if you don’t live in sunny southren California you might need a rain cover for the roller bag.   I’ve used plastic trashbags in the past.

But I intended the FJRack to have other uses too.   Since the bike gets almost twice the mileage of most cars, the more trips you can use the bike for the fewer $$ go to mideast fanatics.  Here’s another of my applications for the FJRack:
